Three things I'm proud of, made for creative learners everywhere.
A free Digital Technologies programme for years 7 to 10 that weaves together coding, culture and creativity. Co-created in Pōneke with teachers and Māori advisors, it takes students from computational thinking through game design to a finished Aotearoa-themed game.
Open Te Hiko TākaroA browser-based game maker that has helped millions of young people learn creative coding by building and sharing their own video games, animations and interactive stories.
Open GamefrootA no-code tool for writing and publishing interactive, branching stories, with an AI assistant for beating writer's block. Built in New Zealand and used by schools, councils and creatives.
Open StoryMateExperiments of a beginning kaiako. Please feel free to tinker and peruse my creations. These are things I've developed to assist me as a teacher, to help young people learn or just for fun.
Sort the sentences, spot the odd one out, and build your own story.
Learning objective: Learning new words, developing knowledge of story elements
An interactive clock. Drag the hands, watch the sky change from day to night, and set the time you're asked for.
Learning objective: Reading and setting o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to on an analog clock, and connecting the time to the part of the day
A maths warm-up based on the card game Memory, with slowly spinning solids. Flip two cards, find the pair, name the shape.
Learning objective: Recognising and naming 3D shapes and matching the same shape seen from different angles
Printables I made for specific lessons during my placement. They're working resources rather than a polished pack, shared in case they're useful.
Worksheets and matching games in teaching order, with a harder sheet at every stage for early finishers.
Learning objective: Reading and showing o'clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to on analog and digital clocks
A sentence builder and draft card template for writing a thank-you to a dad or male role model.
Learning objective: Planning and writing a short recount and turning it into a thank-you message
